At the €0.10 minimum it is three hundred spins, which is a genuine evening with room for the features to appear.

The limits already built into the game#

The tools are inside the game, one keystroke away. The advanced autoplay panel takes three settings:

• Total session loss limit: the amount at which the game stops itself.
• Single-win limit: a win above this figure also ends the series.

A useful extra habit: write the figure down, or set it as the session loss limit in the autoplay panel before your first spin. A number kept in your head tends to move during a session; a number in the panel does not.

The same budget at three stakes#

Read the columns rather than the rows. The stake is the only lever that changes how long an evening lasts, and it changes it by a factor of a hundred between the two ends of this table. The published return is identical in all three columns, so a higher stake buys exactly the same game at twenty or a hundred times the speed. Choose the column you want the evening to live in, then set the loss limit to match it.

Signs that it is time for a break#

None of these are judgements. They are simply the signals worth noticing:

• You have been playing longer than you planned to.
• You are raising the stake after a stretch of spins that paid nothing.
