Joker Never Retires, spin by spin
How a win forms, how the track moves, and every control on the panel.
The Joker Never Retires slot by Bullshark Games is a five-minute game to learn and a long one to get tired of. Twenty lines, one stake selector, a track that moves on its own and a multiplier that reads its own value out loud. This page covers how a win is formed, what happens after it, and every control on the panel, in the order you will meet them.
How a win is formed#
Symbols pay from left to right along adjacent reels, always starting from the leftmost reel. Miss reel one and the combination does not count, however many matching symbols sit further right. Twenty lines are fixed, which keeps the panel to a single setting: your stake.
One rule decides more than it looks: only the highest win on each way counts. A three-symbol win sitting inside a four-symbol win pays once, at the higher value. That is why the paytable’s four-symbol column matters as much as the five, because those are the wins you actually collect at a 29.41% hit rate, and they are already the best value available on that line.
The Wild substitutes for every paytable symbol, so it completes combinations that were one short, and it pays 15x the total bet for five of its own. What it does not do is land on top of your FS Scatters or your existing Wilds; new Wilds arrive around them. The features page gives every symbol its exact value.
The cascade cycle and the Daily Dose track#
The spin is not over until the track stops moving. Here is the loop in order: a combination pays, those symbols clear, new ones drop, the win is recalculated, and the Daily Dose track advances one step. Repeat until a drop produces no win.
The track itself is drawn fresh at the start of every spin: an array of boost events with empty spots between them. In the base game the array opens with two empty spots and keeps two between boosts, so the first upgrade of a spin costs you two cascades. Reach the Wilds boost and between 2 and 10 Wilds land on the grid at once: at the top of that range, half the twenty positions on screen: and a grid rebuilt that far tends to pay again, which moves the track again.
The Extra Dose symbol short-circuits the whole sequence. It lands in the base game and inside both bonus rounds, and when it appears it opens 2 to 5 boost events immediately, before the win is calculated, ignoring the empty spots entirely. Only one sits on the grid at a time, and once it has fired it turns into a random paying symbol other than the Wild, so it joins the win it just created. Watch for it in the demo: it is the single clearest illustration of why this game is built around cascades rather than around spins.

How the bonus rounds open#
Three balls open the door, four open the bigger one. The FS Scatter is a disco ball, it lands in the base game only, and the count decides which round you play: three Scatters give Healthy Habits with 8 free spins, four give Miracle Meds with 10.
Both rounds move the game to the padded cell and change two rules in your favour. The global multiplier stops resetting each spin and becomes progressive to the end of the round, and the Daily Dose track tightens: one empty spot between boosts in Healthy Habits, none at all in Miracle Meds. Each round also carries an Extra Spins boost worth 1, 2 or 3 additional free spins.
Because the Scatter lands only in the base game, a round runs the length it was sold to you plus whatever the Extra Spins boost adds. That is a clean design and it makes the buy prices easy to compare, which the features page does in a single table.

The panel: stake, autoplay, turbo#
Your limits are part of the control row rather than an afterthought. Working across it:
- Stake. Twenty-eight steps from €0.10 to €75.00. The low end runs €0.10 and €0.20, then twenty-cent moves from €0.40 up to €2.00, then single euros to €10.00, then €15.00, €20.00, €25.00 and five-euro moves to €50.00, with €75.00 as the top rung. The demo opens on €2.00.
- Spin. The large round button at the opposite end of the bar, or the space bar on a desktop keyboard.
- Autoplay. The advanced panel takes a number of rounds, a total session loss limit and a single-win limit, and it stops the moment any limit is exceeded. Set all three rather than just the round count.
- Turbo. Turbo and Super Turbo sit in the in-game menu, depending on the casino’s configuration and the market it serves.
- Feature buys. The round BONUS button at the far left end of the control bar, opening a menu of four prices: 3x, 50x, 100x and 250x the stake, again depending on the casino’s configuration.
- Paytable and rules. Where the RTP line for your table is printed, along with every symbol value.
Desktop shortcuts save you the trip through the menus: SHIFT+P opens the paytable, SHIFT+B the feature buy menu, SHIFT+A autoplay, SHIFT+I the game info, SHIFT+T turbo, and SHIFT+S or SHIFT+M mute the sound and the music. The strategy page explains how to use the autoplay limits as an actual session plan rather than a convenience.

Your first session in five minutes#
- Open the demo above and let it load on the €2.00 default stake.
- Drop to €0.10 and spin ten times. At the bottom of the ladder you can watch the track without thinking about the balance.
- Watch the Daily Dose track, not the reels. Count how many cascades a paying spin produces and how many of them reach a boost.
- Go back up to €2.00 and spin ten more. The same events now read in money: a five-symbol jack-in-the-box line is €30.00, three cards is €0.40.
- Open the buy menu with SHIFT+B and read the four prices at that stake: €6.00, €100.00, €200.00 and €500.00. Decide which of them you would actually pay before you ever sit at a real table.
Five minutes of that tells you more than any review, including ours. When you are ready, take the same routine to a real balance with the stake you tested, not the one above it.
A reminder that underpins all of the above: the highest win on each way is the one that pays, so overlapping combinations never double up. It keeps a twenty-line grid readable during a cascade chain, when several wins resolve in quick succession.
Reading the paytable#
The paytable page is where the game stops being mysterious, and it takes a minute to read properly. Every value on it is a multiple of your total stake, so it scales with the ladder rather than needing recalculation.
| Symbol | 5 | 4 | 3 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jack-in-the-box | 15x | 7.5x | 2x |
| Wild | 15x | — | — |
| Slippers and IV bag | 10x | 3x | 1x |
| Dentures and pill cup | 5x | 1.5x | 0.5x |
| 10, J, Q, K, A | 2x | 0.7x | 0.2x |
Twelve symbols in all: five card ranks, five picture symbols, the Wild and the FS Scatter. At the €2.00 default stake, a five-symbol jack-in-the-box line pays €30.00, four of them €15.00, three of them €4.00, and a three-card win €0.40. Drop to €0.10 and the same four events pay €1.50, €0.75, €0.20 and €0.02.
The paytable page carries one more line to find: the RTP line for the table you are sitting at, which reads 96.27%, 94.31% or 92.28% depending on the build your casino runs. Check it once at every new lobby. The RTP page explains what the three configurations mean.

The habits that pay for themselves in the first session#
- Set the stake before anything else. Every feature price and every paytable value is a multiple of it, so choosing it first makes the rest of the screen readable.
- Watch the track rather than the reels. The Daily Dose is where the spin is actually decided, and it moves while your eye is still on the symbols.
- Put your limits in autoplay before you need them. Round count, session loss limit and single-win limit take twenty seconds to set and end the session on your terms.
None of those changes the maths. All of them change how much of the game you see for the same money, which is the only thing worth optimising. The strategy page turns them into a full session plan.
Which controls your lobby shows#
Three categories, and telling them apart is useful. Autoplay and its limits are part of the game everywhere. Turbo and Super Turbo, along with the feature buy menu, are offered where market conditions allow them, so the control row can read differently from one lobby to the next as a market setting. And the keyboard shortcuts belong to the desktop build; on a phone those same functions live behind the menu button.
The shortcuts that skip the buy menu#
Beyond the six above, the desktop build maps the features themselves to keys. SHIFT+1 to SHIFT+4, and SHIFT+F1 to SHIFT+F4, open the bonus rounds and the FeatureSpins purchases directly, without the trip through the buy menu. SHIFT+G is a second path to the game info alongside SHIFT+I, and SHIFT+F does the same job as SHIFT+B on the buy menu.
That is worth knowing for one practical reason: at €2.00 a stake those keys sit in front of €6.00, €100.00, €200.00 and €500.00 purchases. Learn where they are so you press them on purpose, and set your autoplay limits before you do.
On mobile#
The client is HTML5 with WebGL and Web Audio support, drawn at 16:9 on desktop, and the same build is what a casino opens on a phone: the same reels, the same Daily Dose track, the same buy menu. The interface follows the language you load it in, and English is one of the twenty-seven the client speaks.
The shortcuts above belong to a keyboard, so on a phone the same functions live behind the menu button: paytable, game info, autoplay and the buy menu. Set your autoplay limits before you start, because a phone session is the easiest one to let run on. The app page covers the casino app for Android and iOS, and the hub page links the rest of the slot.
18+. Start at the €0.10 minimum and set your session limits before the first spin; the responsible gambling page shows you how.
